Job summary

SAM is seeking a Sensor Operator to capture high-quality geospatial data from aircraft across the United States. You will operate LiDAR and imaging sensors, coordinate flight activities, and ensure data integrity in dynamic field environments.

Ideal candidates have experience with aerial sensors, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for aviation. Travel and remote-location work are integral to this role with opportunities for growth and certification support.

Qualifications

• Experience operating sensors or technical equipment in a helicopter or small aircraft.
• FAA Part 107 license a plus.
• Strong field problem-solving and data validation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate aerial sensors (LiDAR, HD video, RGB/NIR/thermal) from fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters.
• Coordinate daily flights with flight crew and supervisor.
• Troubleshoot sensor issues in real time and perform preventive maintenance.
• Conduct field data checks to ensure high-quality data collection.
• Travel up to 21 days and work in remote locations across the U.S.
