Qualifications

The Aerial Lineman Trainee will perform aerial cable installation procedures, including the placement of poles and anchors.

What you’ll do…
  1. Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
  2. Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
  3. Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
  4. Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and barriers
  5. Flag traffic when required
  6. Understand separation and clearance regulations
  7. Work aloft safely using climbing hooks and ladders
  8. Maintain safe working conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
Who we are looking for…
  • At least 18 years old
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a valid medical card
  • Possess a valid Driver's License or Class A CDL
  • Previous construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
  • Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
  • Ability to climb telephone poles and work in bucket trucks up to 40 feet
  • Capable of performing all telecommunications construction duties
  • Lift and carry 50 lbs regularly, up to 75 lbs as needed
  • Willing to work overtime, after hours, weekends, emergencies, or on-call
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Work in all weather conditions
  • Travel when required
  • Experience with splicing active and passive equipment is a plus
