Job description

The Aerial Lineman is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining coax and fiber optic communications cabling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set poles and place anchors for overhead telecommunication lines
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead power lines and associated equipment
  • Climb poles and towers and use bucket trucks to access power lines
  • Test electrical equipment and components for proper operation
  • Read and interpret technical plans, blueprints, and diagrams
  • Follow all company and departmental procedures and regulations, including safety requirements
  • Participate in safety training as required by the position
  • Maintain and file paperwork as needed
Essential Education and Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid DOT Health Card
  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety, safety regulations, and industry standards
  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate hand tools, equipment, and vehicles safely
Preferred Skill:
  • Class A Driver’s License (CDL)
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to perform activities involving prolonged and repeated lifting, bending, crouching, climbing, kneeling, reaching, holding, standing, and walking
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Pay Scale:

$23/hr to $35/hr
