Job summary

XKIG in Lexington, SC is seeking an Aerial Lift Trimmer to trim, prune and remove trees using a bucket truck or similar equipment. Travel is required; per diem and hotel coverage may be discussed with the hiring manager.

The role demands strong knowledge of knots/rigging, ability to identify tree species, and comfort working at heights near power lines. A high school diploma is preferred, with prior utility vegetation experience and a background/drug screen required.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate working knowledge of knots, ropes and rigging devices used in tree trimming/removal operations.
• Must identify tree species.
• Must be familiar with electrical hazards and operating procedures near conductors and aerial techniques in emergencies.
• Must work and maneuver at considerable heights under varying weather conditions.
• Must have physical strength, agility, balance, depth perception, and hearing instructions.
• Must obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR.
• Must administer emergency rescue techniques, including tree rescue and first aid.
• Must wear necessary PPE and be willing to travel for storm restoration work.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe practices and enforce safety rules.
• Prepare truck and materials as directed.
• Perform professional tree maintenance per supervisor.
• Clear and trim trees/brush away from lines; dispose debris.
• Maintain tools and equipment.
• Improve climbing/tree maintenance skills.
• Assist crew members in daily activities.
• Safeguard others from hazards and maintain clean work areas.
• Respond to storm-related duties as needed.
