Job summary

Cable-East, Inc. is seeking an Aerial Laborer to support overhead telecom installations and maintenance from Statham, GA or Austell, GA. You will assist linemen and operators with aerial fiber and cable work, mounting hardware, and material staging while traveling statewide to job sites.

The role requires working around energized lines, adhering to safety protocols, and occasional extended hours, with a 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and maintain driving record per Company requirements.
• 1–2 years of experience in aerial telecommunications or utility construction preferred.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Capable of working on uneven/rough terrain for extended periods.
• Able to work at heights and use ladders/poles with fall-protection procedures.
• Must wear PPE and follow safety policies.
• Must work around energized lines with proper clearances and procedures.
• Able to follow OSHA standards and participate in JHA meetings.

Responsibilities

• Aerial Construction Support: install/remove aerial fiber optic and coaxial cables on poles.
• Support framing, cross-arm installation, and hardware assembly.
• Handle and stage wire, cable, insulators, and pole hardware.
• Assist ground crews with pulling, lashing, and securing cable; stage materials near bucket-truck operations.
• Serve as a spotter and use hand signals or radio to guide equipment operators during pole placement.
• Ground & Site Support: pole hole preparation and backfilling.
• Maintain organized staging areas and material inventory.
• Load/unload trucks and perform site restoration and cleanup.
• Support traffic control setup as needed.
• Follow OSHA standards and Company safety policies; participate in JHA.

Job Title: Aerial LaborerDepartment: Cable TVShift: Day ShiftLocation: Statham, Georgia (or) Austell, GeorgiaDate Approved: September 2026Remote Work Eligible: NoDescriptionThe position of Aerial Laborer is a regular, full-time hourly non-exempt role responsible for overhead (aerial) utility construction activities by assisting linemen and equipment operators with the installation, maintenance, and removal of overhead telecom lines and systems. This position works in close proximity to energized lines, bucket trucks, and pole-setting equipment and plays a critical role in maintaining job site safety, productivity, and quality standards. This position works out of either the Statham, Georgia or Austell, Georgia office and reports directly to the Aerial Foreman.This position works a schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. This position will have regular travel around the state of Georgia to perform field-based aerial operations at various job sites.
