Job summary

TelCom Construction, LLC is seeking a Telecom Aerial Foreman in Des Moines, IA to oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems. You will lead on-site teams, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and support crew members.

Responsibilities include overseeing cable installations, enforcing safety, and coordinating with customers. Travel for storm response may be required; 3+ years of related experience and a valid CDL are preferred.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma or GED or relevant work experience.
• DOT medical card required.
• 3+ years related work experience.
• CDL Class A preferred.
• Certified pole climber or willing to become certified.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures per codes and customer requirements.
• Ensure work areas are safe and traffic flows smoothly on the job.
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders.
• Safely use hand and power tools (wrenches, drills, saws).
• Provide guidance and support to others as needed.
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice.
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks documenting productivity and safety compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• CDL Class “A” driver license is preferred

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, at heights in confined spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift objects greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse
