TelCom Construction, LLC in Des Moines, IA seeks a Telecom Aerial Foreman to oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on projects. You will lead on-site crews, provide guidance, coordinate with customers, and be ready to travel for storm response.

A valid DOT medical card and CDL-A are preferred; 3+ years of related experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or relevant work experience.
• Must pass DOT medical exam for a valid medical card.
• At least 3 years of related work experience.
• Certified pole climber or willingness to become certified.
• CDL Class A license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of aerial telecom systems according to codes and customer requirements.
• Safely operate equipment (bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators) and use hand/power tools.
• Ensure safety, proper traffic flow, and height work precautions on the job site.
• Provide guidance and support to crew members and travel for storm response on short notice.
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks documenting productivity and safety.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure successful installation of fiber/telecom cables, materials, or support structures according to relevant codes, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Safely use equipment like bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators
• Ensure work areas are safe and that traffic flows smoothly while on the job
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws
• Provide guidance and support to others as needed
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
• Complete daily work orders and crew checks to document productivity and safety compliance
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• To be a certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• CDL Class “A” driver license is preferred

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level, at heights in confined spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift objects greater than 55 pounds
• Occasionally: use keyboard and mouse
