Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam is seeking a Flight Paramedic to provide high-level ALS care on helicopter EMS missions in the Oklahoma area. The role involves completing electronic patient care records for each flight, performing base checks, and ensuring safety and readiness before liftoff.

Qualified candidates will hold EMT-P licensure with several ALS certifications. FP-C within 24 months, instructor certifications, and NREMT-P may be required depending on the area.

Qualifications

• Current EMT-P license/certification in states served by the area.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) required within 24 months of hire.
• Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, ITLS/PHTLS preferred.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the specified time frame.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotic counting.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from initial contact until handoff, with thorough documentation.
• Maintain competency through ongoing lab and clinical experiences.
• Document licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety trainings, and procedures.
• Operate and maintain equipment and supplies used by emergency programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
• Serve as a medical flight team member.
• Attend pre-mission briefings and post-mission debriefings and complete required documentation.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot assistance as needed (radio, navigation, observation).
• Comply with safety standards to protect personnel, patients, and equipment before liftoff.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as needed.
• Fill open or vacant shifts within assigned area as directed by the Regional Director.
