Job summary

Jan-Care Ambulance in West Virginia is seeking an AEMT to provide safe, compassionate ambulance transport and out-of-hospital care. You will work within a team to support community safety and follow state protocols.

Responsibilities include orientation, EMS operations, equipment checks, patient assessment, CPR, and responding to emergencies, events, and recalls. A high school diploma and EMS certification are required.

Qualifications

• General Knowledge of EMS operations, operation of ambulances and proper use of EMS equipment.
• Ability to learn through training, using a wide variety of EMS methods
• Ability to readily acquire knowledge of the road/street systems and general physical layout of assigned communities.
• Obtain necessary skills including opening and maintaining an airway, ventilating a patient, CPR and defibrillator use; provide trauma care.

Responsibilities

• Attend orientation, EMS operations and certification maintenance sessions.
• Provide out-of-hospital care and safe ambulance transport per state protocols.
• Inspect EMS equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Respond to emergency calls and assist other personnel as needed.
• Maintain professional appearance and support station upkeep.
• Participate in event stand-by and mass casualty preparedness if required.
