Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Hourly Advocate to support youth and families across the Philadelphia area. The role involves initiating, organizing, planning, and delivering direct advocacy services based on a wraparound model, serving as a positive role model in community, school, and home settings.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, experience with at-risk youth, strong communication skills, and reliable transportation. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families in a community-based setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage is required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
  • Serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.

Job description

Status: Full-Time Hourly
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary: $38,000
Availability: Flexible Hours; May include evenings and weekends.
Summary of the Position: Full -Time Hourly Advocate position serving youth and families throughout Philadelphia area are available.

  • Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.
  • The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage and activity reimbursement.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Associates or Higher is preferred.
  • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth and families in a community-based setting
  • Proficiency using computers, Microsoft Office 365; Knowledge of Electronic Health Record Systems (EHR) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage is required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) speaking is a plus.
