Job summary

Youth Advocate Programs, Inc. is seeking part-time Advocates to provide direct advocacy services for individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.

The role emphasizes plan development, wraparound services, and positive youth support in community, school, and home settings. Responsibilities include organizing, initiating, and implementing individualized service plans while maintaining strong communication with participants and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families using a wrap around model.
• Serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.
• Maintain strong organization and communication to support service plans.

Job description

Status:Part Time Hourly

FLSA classification:Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position:Hourly, Part-Time positions working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or challenging behaviors are available.

• Advocates must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings.
• The Primary responsibilitiesof the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
• All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and activity reimbursement.

Hourly Rate: $15.00 per hour

Availability: Flexible, Non-Traditional Hours; may require some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be extremely organized
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be professional, flexible, and have the ability to work independently
• Must be available evenings and weekends
• Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office; experience using an electronic health record (EHR) is a plus.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus but not required.
• Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage
