Job summary

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, Inc. seeks a Coordinator Advocacy & Government Relations in New York to mobilize communities for access to sexual and reproductive health care and defend reproductive freedom.

You will plan events, manage short-term campaigns, recruit and train volunteers, build partnerships, and collaborate across departments to engage supporters and activists. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years in community organizing or campaigns, with Spanish bilingualism

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in political studies/public policy, social work, or related area.
• A minimum of 1–3 years in community organizing, campaigns, coalitions or legislative process.
• Demonstrated verbal, written, and project coordination skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Ability to use databases and websites for public affairs goals.

Responsibilities

• Plans and facilitates events for and communications with activists.
• Manages short-term advocacy and organizing projects such as Day of Action and voter engagement.
• Builds and maintains targeted collaborative partnerships with allied organizations and coalitions.
• Recruits, trains, and mobilizes volunteers for grassroots actions.
• Serves as liaison to other departments including health centers as needed.
• Collaborates with Communications, Development, Education and Training to organize events for supporters.
• Develops and conducts presentations on legislation, policy, and advocacy for coalition partners.
