Job summary

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic is seeking a Coordinator, Advocacy and Student Programs to mobilize young people and communities for reproductive health care access and rights. The role leads student advocacy programs in high schools and colleges, and builds partnerships with coalitions to advance PPHP’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in political studies/public policy, social work, or related area.
• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience with community organizing, political campaigns, coalition building, and/or legislative processes.
• Demonstrated verbal, written, project coordination, and community organizing skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.
• Ability to utilize technology, such as databases and websites, to support public affairs goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage PP Generation Action programs and liaise with PPFA on youth advocacy efforts.
• Supervise High School Advocacy Program and college campus outreach.
• Coordinate student volunteers for canvassing and phone banks in the region.
• Organize PPHP's annual Youth Lobby event and engage communities regionally.
• Collaborate with departments to plan events linking PPHP to supporters and activists.
