Job summary

Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic is seeking a Coordinator, Advocacy and Student Programs to mobilize youth and communities for full access to reproductive health care and information. The role builds partnerships with schools and colleges, engages volunteers, and advances PPHP's mission through outreach.

The position oversees generation action programs, high school and campus advocacy, student volunteers, and events like Youth Lobby.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in political studies/public policy, social work, or related area.
• 1–3 years of experience with community organizing, political campaigns, coalition building, and/or legislative process.
• Demonstrated verbal, written, project coordination, and community organizing skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages and supervises Planned Parenthood Generation Action programs and serves as PPHP’s liaison with PPFA regarding youth advocacy.
• Supports outreach events on college campuses to educate and activate students to advocate for PPHP health issues.
• Manage High School Advocacy Program and other advocacy efforts with students at all levels.
• Organizes PPHP’s annual Youth Lobby event and participates in community outreach to build activist base.
• Build coalitions with partners to advance advocacy goals and represent PPHP at meetings and task forces.
