Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in financial advisor recruiting, wealth management recruiting, RIA business development, or a closely related area.
  • Strong understanding of the RIA, independent broker-dealer, and broader wealth management landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with senior-level financial advisors and other high-value professionals.
  • Experience sourcing and developing opportunities through proactive outreach rather than relying exclusively on inbound candidates.
  • Strong business-development mindset with the ability to build a pipeline, maintain relationships, and consistently move opportunities forward.
  • Ability to understand the economics and structure of an advisor's practice and communicate a compelling business case for transitioning platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing numerous relationships at different stages of the recruiting process.
  • Persistent and patient, with the ability to cultivate relationships that may take months or longer to convert.
  • Existing relationships within the wealth management or financial advisor community are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of established financial advisors, advisor teams, and wealth management professionals who could be a fit for the firm.
  • Proactively identify and engage prospective advisors through direct outreach, industry relationships, referrals, networking, events, and other sourcing strategies.
  • Build meaningful, long-term relationships with prospective advisors, including individuals who may not be immediately ready to make a transition.
  • Understand each advisor's practice, including assets under management, client base, revenue profile, investment approach, growth objectives, and current platform.
  • Identify the business and personal factors that could motivate an advisor or team to consider transitioning firms.
  • Articulate company value proposition and demonstrate how the firm's platform, resources, economics, technology, and support infrastructure can help advisors grow and better serve their clients.
  • Manage the advisor recruiting lifecycle from initial outreach and relationship development through evaluation, negotiation, commitment, and transition.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to develop recruiting strategies and prioritize advisor profiles, markets, and opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with prospective advisors throughout what can often be a long and complex decision-making process.
  • Develop referral relationships and centers of influence throughout the wealth management industry.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity and provide leadership with visibility into recruiting activity, prospective advisor opportunities, and expected new business.
  • Stay informed on competitive platforms, advisor movement, industry trends, and developments affecting the RIA and independent wealth management marketplace.
  • Represent the company professionally at industry conferences, networking events, and other advisor-focused events.

Summary

The Advisor Recruiter will play a critical role in the continued expansion of the firm by identifying, developing relationships with, and recruiting established financial advisors and advisory teams to join the company platform. This is a highly relationship-driven position that sits at the intersection of talent acquisition, business development, and advisor growth. Rather than focusing on traditional corporate recruiting, the Advisor Recruiter will build and manage a pipeline of experienced financial advisors, understand their businesses and long-term objectives, and position the company as the right platform for the next stage of their growth.

The ideal candidate understands the wealth management landscape, is comfortable engaging sophisticated and successful financial professionals, and has the persistence and relationship-building skills necessary to manage a recruiting process that can develop over an extended period of time.
