Location: Chicago | Commitment: Freelance Contract

Our client is seeking a seasoned Ad Sales professional to join their team on a freelance basis. This contract role blends the strategic strengths of both Agency Sales Partner and Client Partner positions, with a strong focus on managing high-profile accounts and engaging directly with senior executives across key verticals.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in advertising sales, thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments, and demonstrates the ability to build trust across both internal teams and external partners. This person will be instrumental in crafting thoughtful solutions and driving growth across complex accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow relationships with high-value clients, ensuring business goals are met while maximizing revenue potential.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver strategic, custom advertising solutions aligned with client objectives.
  • Confidently engage with senior decision-makers (CMO-level and above), presenting strategies and negotiating terms.
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy to uncover new opportunities across various verticals, including CPG, Travel, and Entertainment.
  • Monitor market shifts and competitive insights to inform sales strategy and identify growth levers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in ad sales, ideally with a blend of agency and client-facing exposure.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex client portfolios and consistently hitting sales targets.
  • Deep understanding of vertical-specific needs and media solutions, particularly in high-growth or fast-moving industries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills — especially at the executive level.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working independently in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment.
