Job summary

YMCA of the USA seeks an Adventure Village Director to lead counselors, schedule activities, and mentor staff at Camp Cosby. You will ensure camper safety, well‑being, and positive development while upholding YMCA policies.

This on‑site summer role requires prior youth work, strong leadership, and the ability to manage schedules, events, and training. CPR/First Aid certification is required within onboarding.

Qualifications

• 2 years of prior experience with youth in camping or related youth work.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certifications.
• Ability to work with staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to YMCA mission and Christian values.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned staff training sessions.
• Support staff and inspire them to be great leaders for campers.
• Ensure safety, welfare and happiness of staff and campers in your village.
• Schedule activities and manage camper sign‑up.
• Monitor adherence to ACA, Health, and YMCA policies.
• Record incidents and communicate with program leadership.
