The YMCA Camp Cosby is seeking a Head Counselor for the summer to lead staff, supervise campers, and ensure safety and growth across village cabins. You will mentor Sr. Counselors, Counselors and Jr.

Counselors, model Christian character, coordinate activities, and maintain policy compliance. Requirements include at least 2 years of youth work, prior supervisory experience, ability to cover camp grounds, CPR/First Aid certification, and being 20 years old or older.

Qualifikationen

• Two years of prior experience working with children in camping or related youth work.
• Experience as a peer leader or supervisor.
• Ability to train and mentor staff.
• Must be 20 years of age or older.

Aufgaben

• Lead assigned sessions during staff training.
• Support all staff at camp and inspire them to be great leaders with our campers.
• Be responsible for the safety, health, welfare and happiness of each staff member and camper in your village and at your accountability areas.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Assist Activities Director with camper sign ups each evening.
• Assure that cabin staff assist campers with writing home.
• Supervise and support during activity periods and lead activities as needed.
• Ensure all activity equipment is properly cared for and reported if replacement is needed.
