Job summary

Weber State University is seeking an Outdoor Program Trip Leader to instruct and guide participants on outdoor outings and clinics. This role requires adherence to the OP Curriculum, safety standards, and strong teaching and communication abilities.

Responsibilities include ensuring participant safety, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and responding to emergencies. Pooled positions operate on weekends and evenings year-round, with up to 20 hours per week and 12 months per year, at an hourly

Qualifications

• Must have leadership skills and experience working with adults and/or children.
• Significant experience in at least one outdoor activity.
• CPR/AED and Standard First Aid certifications are required prior to working at the OP.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license by start of program and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead participants in outdoor outings, clinics, or classes following the OP Curriculum and safety standards.
• Ensure the safety of participants, equipment, and vehicles; manage emergencies as needed.
• Collaborate with the Outdoor Program team and contribute to year-round programming.
