Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Adventure Lead to plan and run engaging outdoor programs for campers in a safe, faith-centered environment. You will lead hikes, rope courses, and nature-based learning while maintaining equipment and spaces with care.

You’ll supervise activities, track camper progress, and support morning and evening programs, fostering growth in outdoor skills and spiritual formation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • C.C.T Level 2 Practitioner Certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Camping experience or staff exposure is preferred.
  • Experience facilitating challenge courses and team-building events.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead adventure programs including hiking and ropes activities.
  • Facilitate low and high ropes activities safely using team-building values.
  • Prepare and maintain adventure areas and supplies for safety and cleanliness.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and report safety issues; manage inventory.
  • Supervise activity areas and assist with electives and special programs.
  • Lead sunrise hikes and support cabin leaders during adventure times.
  • Maintain camper progress records and support spiritual formation activities.
  • Participate in campfires, evening programs, and Bible studies; assist with supervision.
