Job summary

AMIkids, Inc. seeks an energetic Activities Instructor to lead indoor, outdoor, and community-based experiential education activities for youth in Jonesville, SC. You will mentor participants, foster leadership and healthy decision-making, and ensure safety during all adventures.

The role emphasizes hands-on experiential learning, certification-based instruction, and positive role modeling in a dynamic youth-development program.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of related experience in aquatics, ropes/challenge course, outdoor recreation, or adventure programming.
• Ability to obtain Lifeguard and Challenge Course Instructor certifications.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Passion for experiential learning and youth development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead indoor, outdoor, and community-based experiential education activities.
• Teach recreational and leadership activities, team-building, and outdoor learning.
• Create a safe, structured environment fostering confidence and problem-solving.
• Maintain activity plans, materials, equipment, and safety standards.
• Assess student progress through demonstrations and certification-based instruction.
• Mentor and model positive behavior while supervising youth during all activities.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies using approved intervention techniques.
• Participate in day trips, adventure outings, and special events.
• Maintain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, Challenge Course Instructor).
• Transport youth to program activities and assist with projects.
