Job summary

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) is offering an Advancement Intern position in Washington, DC. The intern will work with the National and International Outreach staff on a year-long research project supporting the 20th Anniversary of Women to Watch and the 2027 Committee Conference.

The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, with a spring term running February–May 2027. The intern will be on-site and report to the Manager of Constituent Engagement, assisting with research,

Qualifications

  • Sophomore year of undergraduate study (or higher) or two years of work experience after high school.
  • Very strong research, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent digital skills and proficiency.
  • Strong customer service skills with professional, friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Develop internal database of Women to Watch artists.
  • Draft biographies and collect interview responses.
  • Identify stories highlighting Women to Watch impact.
  • Communicate with artists and stakeholders for interviews.
  • Obtain permission to use certain images as needed.
  • Support planning and execution of the 2027 National and International Committee Conference.
