Job summary

The National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA) seeks a Public Programs Intern to support Women, Arts, and Social Change (WASC) initiatives. You will help plan, produce, and evaluate programs such as NMWA Nights and Fresh Talks, coordinating logistics and communications.

This part-time, on-site internship is 20 hours per week (up to 240 total hours) and reports to the Director of Public Programs. Candidates should reside in DC/MD/VA and be eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Must reside in DC/MD/VA and be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Sophomore year completed or two years of work experience.
• Strong interest in gender equity, the arts, and social change.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with event planning or program coordination encouraged.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with social media.
• Flexible hours, including evenings for events.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and production of WASC programs (Fresh Talks, markets, pop-up programs, NMWA Nights).
• Coordinate logistics, communicate with speakers and participants, assist with setup/breakdown.
