Job summary

EDM Technician Level III at LTI is an experienced member of the Machine Shop responsible for the full range of Wire EDM operations, including programming, fixture development, setup, and process optimization to meet customer requirements.

This role leads in complex, first-run work, collaborates with Quality and Engineering, and ensures traceability and compliance throughout the machining process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• WEDM machining experience with independent setup, fixture development, programming, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to create and edit EDM programs from drawings and job requirements.
• Ability to use micrometers and other precision measuring instruments and verify dimensions to 0.0001 inch.
• Interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T; adjust machine controls.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, teamwork, and problem solving; work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Machine operations across EDM; setup for short- and long-run work.
• Develops fixtures for complex parts and coordinates with leadership.
• Creates and edits EDM programs from drawings.
• Adjusts cutting parameters for tight tolerances and difficult geometries.
• Troubleshoots and supports with engineering to resolve issues.
• Maintains process documentation and calibration readiness.
• Maintain safe, organized work area and follow safety rules.
