Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Lifeguard to join our team at Home of the Innocents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe aquatic environment and responding professionally to emergencies.
A Day in the Life
As a lifeguard, you will vigilantly monitor swimmers, enforce safety rules, and be prepared to respond quickly to emergencies. Lifeguards also maintain equipment and ensure the area remains clean and hazard-free.
Shifts Available
- PRN/Part Time; hours will vary by department needs
- Most Saturdays
- Sunday OFF
Position Contribution to Our Mission
- Support management in ensuring operations comply with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, including those from the Health Department and OSHA.
- Complete necessary documentation, such as reports on exposure to potentially infectious or hazardous materials.
- Maintain all required lifeguard/pool attendant certifications as mandated by HOTI and local agencies.
- Proactively eliminate hazards and respond swiftly in case of accidents.
- Ensure all equipment and facility areas are well-maintained and that users adhere to safety regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Current lifeguard certification with CPR/AED and First Aid through the American Red Cross (or willingness to recertify)
- Ability to deal tactfully and patiently with guests.
- Knowledge of aquatics practices, procedures, and local laws pertaining to pools.
- Willingness to work harmoniously as part of a team.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and enthusiasm.
- Experience working with children or special populations is preferred.
