Job summary

Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced-level care, perform diagnostics, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient outcomes.

This PRN role requires NBRC-approved program, RRT credential, active state license, BLS and other certifications; prior respiratory experience preferred; may float to other departments and be on-call.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
• Current license as Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers is required.
• Certifications such as PALS, ACLS, NRP as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures according to protocol.
• Administers medications in a timely and safe manner and evaluates effects.
• Maintains awareness of patient condition and communicates with physicians and nurses.
• Completes documentation according to departmental standards and manages supplies and equipment.
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives and departmental meetings.
• May float to other departments within scope of competency and be on-call.
