Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Research Technician in Pediatrics-Infectious Disease to support ligated laboratory research activities, including cell culture, mouse colony management and infection modeling, plus data analysis and figure preparation for publications.

You will work closely with the Principal Investigator and team, contribute to grant applications and progress reports, and assist with maintaining reagents, inventory, and lab operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in academic/clinical research laboratory settings.
• Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, aseptic techniques and related assays.
• Familiarity with animal research including rodent handling and care.

Responsibilities

• Design, organize and execute lab research activities.
• Perform cell- and tissue-based assays; culture eukaryotic cells and microbial strains.
• Contribute to in vivo studies via mouse colony management and infection modeling.
• Collect, process and analyze data; prepare figures for presentations/publications.
• Maintain reagents, inventory and supplies; assist with ordering.
• Support grant applications and progress reports; help prepare manuscripts.
