Job summary

D-Wave is seeking a talented and self-motivated Quantum Engineer II to join our Advance Device Development group in New Haven. You will design and execute measurements for advanced quantum device characterization, analyze performance data, and help validate new device concepts.

Responsibilities include maintaining cryogenic and measurement systems, developing experiments, building automation and data-analysis pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to feedback into development

Qualifications

• Experience with superconducting quantum devices, device physics, and measurement techniques.
• Experience in DC/RF measurements and cryogenic systems.
• Proficiency in scientific programming for instrument control, data acquisition, analysis, and automation.
• Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues, and identify practical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills in interdisciplinary physics and engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform microwave, electrical, and cryogenic measurements.
• Maintain and optimize cryogenic and measurement systems to improve performance and reliability.
• Develop and execute experiments for device characterization and validation.
• Perform data analysis to identify device performance characteristics and key contributing factors.
• Develop and maintain experiment automation and data-analysis pipelines.
• Identify procedure or tool issues and help implement practical improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support device evaluation and provide experimental feedback into development cycles.
• Maintain well-organized documentation of methods, results, and datasets.
