Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a position in Orlando, FL or Dallas, TX to lead the Advanced Programs & Special Programs Manufacturing Engineering team. The position will lead a provide technical and strategic direction and leadership across a diverse portfolio of programs ranging from early concept development through transition to production. The position will lead a team of experienced Manufacturing Engineers whose primary mission is to support all new programs & IRAD efforts in order to ensure producibility through execution. This team supports programs from concept through initial design, development, and up to initial production readiness. The candidate will focus on how we adopt and enable new business practices to leverage a model-based enterprise and enable the digital thread from concept through delivery as we transform our operations. This leader will drive producibility, design‑for‑assembly best practices, and early manufacturing integration across multiple advanced programs to ensure readiness for high‑rate, cost‑effective production.
This position is a leader of leaders, responsible for developing and guiding a geographically dispersed team focused on transforming how we design and build future MFC systems. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing expertise, strong leadership capability, and a passion for influencing engineering at the earliest phases of development to enable automation, digital manufacturing, and lights‑out operations. This role will interact with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Production Operations Management, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Suppliers, and the Customer as well as various levels of functional leaders to ensure program objectives are being met and brief them on risks to those objectives. Experience building positive relationships; communicating across functional and physical boundaries; improving cost, schedule, quality, and safety; and manufacturing is a must.
This position will lead & develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers to concurrently engineer new designs & production systems in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drive integration across the network of MFC production Sites and Programs and establishing con‑ops on how program ME teams will interface with sites and their resident capability SMEs to perform Df(x) assessments of models. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, additive manufacturing, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater producibility, efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Leverage modeling, simulation, and factory data to develop production system designs and prove out processes virtually prior to any hardware being built. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
