Qualifications

• Requires comprehensive knowledge of setting up, adjusting, operating and maintaining press equipment to produce color work to tight tolerances.
• Ability to read job specifications and determine appropriate press usage, settings and materials.
• Proficient use of micrometer for mounting and aligning printing plates.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain gravure or offset presses for single-, two-, or multi-color work with strong color and registration accuracy.
• Review job specs to determine press setup based on run imposition (sheet wise or work and turn).
• Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates, installing cylinders, inspecting plates/cylinders, and preparing blankets.
• Make necessary color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs and replacements as needed.
• Conduct periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
