Qualifications

• Knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety requirements.
• Ability to read job specifications to determine press setup materials.
• Knowledge of press capabilities for optimal adjustments and efficient run.
• Understanding packing pressure for proper printing pressure.
• Skill in mounting and aligning printing plates with a micrometer.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset press.
• Perform all make-ready tasks: hang plates, install cylinders, inspect for imperfections, check image positioning.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs for production runs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; perform minor repairs and replace worn parts as needed.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
