Job summary

RR Donnelley in Indiana is seeking an experienced press operator to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset presses. The role includes make-ready tasks, color corrections, and ensuring quality standards, with emphasis on safe operation and regular maintenance.

You will work with various press configurations, manage plates and cylinders, and perform routine upkeep to minimize downtime while meeting production specs and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications to determine required materials.
• Understanding press capabilities to select appropriate use and adjustments.
• Know the packing pressure needed for printing pressure of the job.
• Skill in using a micrometer to align printing plates correctly.
• Experience with routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Ability to adjust feeder, guides, suction, timing of head stops.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset press.
• Perform make-ready tasks such as hanging plates, cylinders, and prep steps.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, replacing worn parts as needed.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by manufacturer.
