Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking an experienced press operator in Indiana to set up, adjust, and operate single or multi-color offset presses. You will perform all make-ready tasks, inspect plates/cylinders, and ensure color accuracy before production.

Responsibilities include maintaining and cleaning the press, making minor repairs, and performing manufacturer-recommended periodic maintenance to keep machinery in top condition.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of offset printing procedures, materials, equipment and safety requirements.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
• Knowledge of appropriate press capabilities to determine optimal use and adjustments for efficient runs.
• Knowledge of packing pressure to obtain proper printing pressure for the job.
• Skill in using a micrometer to mount and align the printing plate correctly.
• Skill in routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Ability to adjust feeder and feed board settings for proper operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset press.
• Perform all make-ready tasks such as hanging plates or installing cylinders and inspecting plates/cylinders for positioning.
• Make color corrections and press adjustments to meet quality specs prior to production.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press; replace worn or broken parts as required.
• Perform periodic maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer.
