Job summary

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Mobile CT Unit to deliver lifesaving cancer care. You’ll manage pediatric and adult patients across care stages, emphasizing education and supportive guidance throughout their journey.

Ideal candidates have oncology or acute care AP experience, NY licensure, and a nursing or PA degree. You will join a collaborative team with a focus on comprehensive care and coordinated planning.

Job Type: Regular | Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center | Department: Mobile CT Unit | Time Type: Full time | Weekly Hours: 40 | FTE: 1 | Shift: First Shift

Summary

At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, our Advanced Practice Providers play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high‑quality care to patients and families facing cancer. In this position, you’ll work with pediatric and/or adult patients across different stages of care—from prevention and early detection to treatment and survivorship. This is more than a clinical role—it’s an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, provide education and support, and help guide patients through some of the most important moments in their lives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive care, including health promotion, cancer prevention, and treatment support
  • Assess and manage both acute and chronic health conditions
  • Educate patients and their families to help them better understand their care and next steps
  • Offer counseling and emotional support during all phases of care
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create coordinated care plans
  • Connect patients with additional providers and community resources when needed

Required Education and Experience

For Advanced Practice Provider II (Grade 30): At least 2 years of full‑time Advanced Practice Provider experience in oncology, cancer care, or a comparable acute care setting is required.

Nurse Practitioner Educational Path
  1. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
  2. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification.
  3. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or another national certifying body recognized by the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA).
  4. Master’s or higher‑level degree in Nursing.
  5. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or another national certifying body recognized by the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.
Physician Assistant Educational Path
  1. License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
  2. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or another national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department.
  3. Bachelor’s or higher‑level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or
  4. Bachelor’s or higher‑level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department.
Compensation & Benefits

Advanced Practice Provider I (Grade 28): Starting at $121,038 annually.

Advanced Practice Provider II (Grade 30): Starting at $133,124 annually.

Includes a geographic differential and a comprehensive benefits package.
