Virtual Behavioral Health Crisis Assessment Counselor (Remote 7a-5p/Full-time)

Join to apply for the Virtual Behavioral Health Crisis Assessment Counselor (Remote 7a-5p/Full-time) role at Indiana University Health.

Overview

Facilitates patient involvement in treatment and education. Performs individual, group, and family counseling. Handles utilization review and discharge planning. Collaborates effectively with the healthcare team to ensure safe, timely services, and provides resources and education to patients and families. Assesses psychosocial risk factors and provides mental health assessments upon physician referral. Acts as a point person for child abuse/neglect, elder abuse, domestic violence, and serves as liaison with protective teams. Provides intervention in guardianship, foster care, adoption, and mental health placements.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
  • Current licensure or license eligibility in Indiana as an HSPP, LMFT, LCSW, or LMHC.
  • Clinical licensure preferred.
  • Knowledge of disease impact, human behavior, legal mandates, growth and development, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Relevant healthcare, mental health, or community experience.

Additional requirements include CPI certification (may be required), and strong community and agency relationship skills.
