UVA Health System is seeking a Clinical Audiologist to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and patient management in a dynamic academic medical center. The role involves hearing aid evaluations, cochlear implant management, and supervision of graduate students. Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Audiology and relevant experience. UOVUNIUSREXTERNALENUS Clinical audiologist will be expected to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for patients that may be unique to an academic medical center with an active otology/neurotology practice; hearing aid evaluation, programming, fitting, repair, follow-up, and patient management; and comprehensive cochlear implant evaluation, programming, follow-up, and patient management. Previous medical center experience and/or cochlear implant experience is preferred.
Provides routine and specialized auditory assessment of patients referred to the Audiology Division and/or Vestibular & Balance Center by utilizing both behavioral and electrophysiological measures. Accurately analyzes and interprets results of all such testing, and makes appropriate recommendations for rehabilitation. Provides follow-up services as indicated, referring appropriately for ancillary needs. Responds to initial Hospital consults in compliance with departmental policy.
Assesses patients' candidacy for amplification, fits and dispenses hearing aids or other assistive listening devices. Counsels patients and their families in the use of the equipment. Performs hearing aid repairs on site when possible and promptly processes repairs which must be returned to the manufacturer. Provides hearing aid follow-up care.
Maintains records on all patients utilizing documentation guidelines as outlined by departmental policies and procedures (evaluation & follow-up reports, progress and summary notes, etc.) and does so in a timely manner. Ensures all duties related to scheduling, billing, and statistics are completed promptly and accurately, maintaining organized patient files. Completes encounter forms timely and adheres to all aspects of the Corporate Compliance Plan and the UPG Compliance Plans. Complies with Health System and UPG policies and procedures.
Provides supervision of graduate Audiology students, offering timely and insightful evaluations of clinical performance and reports.
Participates in clinical research, departmental QI plans, and assists with special projects as requested.
Maintains current state licensure and national certification, including Continuing Education requirements.
Provides in-service training for audiologists and other healthcare professionals as required or requested by the Assistant Audiology Director.

Position Compensation Range: $63,939.20 - $102,294.40 Annual
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
