Job summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of South Florida (USF Health) delivers high-quality, patient-centered care across reconstructive and aesthetic services, working with plastic surgeons, residents, nurses and multidisciplinary teams in outpatient and inpatient settings.

The APP provides perioperative care, first-assist in the operating room, patient education, and contributes to the academic, research, and educational missions while

Qualifications

• Master's or medical degree from an accredited institution in APRN or PA field.
• Certification per Florida statutes for APRN or PA required.
• Qualified to perform duties as an Instructor-level appointee per university criteria.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.
• Evaluate patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
• Develop and modify treatment plans with supervising plastic surgeons.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and tests.
• Conduct preoperative evaluations and surgical clearances.
• Provide postoperative care, wound management and drain care.
• Assist in the operating room as First Assist when needed.
• Engage in academic advising, teaching, research and service.
