Job summary

Houston Methodist seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Primary Care to maintain and promote patient health under the supervision of a licensed physician. The APP will deliver diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative care in an outpatient primary care setting, performing physicals, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and referring to specialists when appropriate.

The role may operate independently under indirect physician supervision and aligns with Board of Nursing guidance in Texas

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Two years of advanced practice clinical experience.
• Two years of advanced practice clinical experience in primary care, family medicine, or outpatient internal medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative care to primary care patients.
• Order tests and therapy, prescribe medications, and refer to specialists when appropriate.
• Coordinate care in outpatient primary care settings under physician supervision as needed.

Education

Master’s degree or higher in Nursing

Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
