Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Phys Asst – Primary Care to deliver diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care in an outpatient primary care setting under the supervision of a licensed physician.

The role includes conducting physicals, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating referrals within an interprofessional team, with autonomous practice possible under indirect supervision.

Qualifications

• Two years of advanced practice clinical experience
• Two years of advanced practice clinical experience in primary care, family medicine, or outpatient internal medicine preferred
• Ability to obtain/maintain Texas PA license and prescriptive authority

Responsibilities

• Provides diagnostic, therapeutic and preventative care to primary care patients under physician supervision
• May conduct physicals, order tests and therapies, prescribe medications, and refer to specialists when appropriate
• Coordinates care as part of an outpatient primary care team and may work independently under indirect supervision
• Demonstrates leadership and communication with patients, families, and interprofessional teams
