Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin seeks a Professional Billing CDI Clinical Specialist to optimize documentation within provider workflows and support accurate coding and reimbursement. You will engage with providers, guide workflow improvements, and partner with CDI, coding, physician advisors, informatics and revenue cycle leaders to ensure clinically relevant, operational documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing or other applicable advanced practice discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of recent clinical practice experience.
• Active Advanced Practice Provider license/certification.
• Knowledge of CDI, coding, informatics or documentation improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent clinical evaluation of documentation accuracy and medical necessity.
• Provide peer-level consultation on clinical documentation and diagnostic specificity.
• Evaluate how documentation workflows impact patient care and care delivery.
• Advise leadership on clinical implications of documentation policies.
• Collaborate with CDI, coding, informatics and revenue cycle teams.
