Job summary

Carriage Services is hiring an Advance Planning Counselor - Outside Sales Representative in Fairfax Memorial Park. You will assist families with pre-need funeral and cemetery arrangements, guiding choices of services, property, and merchandise to exceed expectations.

The role offers a base salary of $40,000, plus commission and the potential to earn six figures. You’ll receive 8 weeks of paid training and have flexibility in scheduling while promoting from within.

Qualifications

• Must have a desire to make money while helping people.
• Strong telephone, interpersonal, and communications skills.
• High level of compassion and integrity.
• Independent, self-reliant, and self-motivated.
• Must be able to multi-task, set priorities and manage appointments.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of sales experience.
• Possession or ability to obtain an insurance license as required by law.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meets with client families on a pre-need basis to present funeral and cremation options and related merchandise.
• Works independently away from location to solicit new leads, referrals, and sales opportunities.
• Proactively creates and makes sales away from the location with minimal supervision.
• Spends limited time at location or in the office.
• Establishes professional relationships with client families to meet needs.
• Represents the company professionally and ethically in all interactions.
• Develops new prospects and community contacts through cold calling, referrals, seminars.
• Maintains proactive communication with all departments for smooth service.
• Participates in required training initiatives.
• Reports progress to Sales Manager and submits required reports timely.
• Adheres to pricing structures and submits paperwork and payments on schedule.
• Meets or exceeds revenue standards to maintain employment and benefits.
• Complies with company procedures for customer service and post-interment activities.
• Protects confidentiality of company and client information.
• Maintains pricing integrity and timely paperwork submissions.
• Identifies and remedies hazards at location.
