Job summary

UP Health System Marquette is seeking a Pharmacist to join our team, with a mission to deliver exceptional patient care in the Marquette region.

In this role you will manage drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team, review medication orders, and provide drug information to staff, patients, and learners. A Michigan license and Doctor of Pharmacy are required. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available for eligible external candidates.

Qualifications

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy
  • License: Current Michigan Pharmacist license
  • MI Pharmacist Controlled Substance License

Responsibilities

  • Manages drug therapy protocols as a part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems.
  • Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students.
  • Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry. Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians.
  • Maintains adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have a current state Michigan Pharmacy License and possess a doctorate's degree from an accredited school of pharmacy. Additional requirements include:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy
  • License: Current license with the state Board of Pharmacy
  • MI Pharmacist Controlled Substance License
