Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years as a pharmacy technician and 4 years in advanced pharmacy technician concentration.
• Licenses/Certifications: Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration as a Registered Technician or Pharmacist Intern; Sterile Compounding (IV) certification; BLS from AHA/ARC.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties according to policies and improves areas of responsibility.
• Coordinates daily workflow and provides leadership to other technicians.
• Acts as a knowledge resource for assigned areas and trains others.
• Receives calls from patients, nurses, physicians, and prioritizes requests by urgency.
• Participates in teaching activities for Pharmacy Technicians and students.
• Maintains clean, orderly, stocked work environment and adheres to safety standards.
• Audits and signs out controlled substances per guidelines and reports discrepancies.
• Spends 80% of hours in advanced pharmacy technician concentration areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
