Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern to apply classroom knowledge in real-world practice within our retail pharmacy network. Under the supervision of a preceptor, you will follow a comprehensive training roadmap to understand store, district, and regional operations while gaining hands-on experience with the pharmacy team.

You will learn to assist with prescription processing, patient counseling, immunizations, and collaborative care under federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Learn to operate under SOPs and provide empathetic, caring service to patients.
• Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify with prescribers where allowed by state regulation.
• Support immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law and training.
• Complete basic inventory activities and assist with cycle counts and deliveries.
• Travel to stores in the market to support scheduling and coverage as needed.
