Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. in Poway, CA, is seeking a PC Board Designer in the Electrical Engineering Department to assist engineers in designing and developing complex PCB layouts for a wide range of products.

You will work with CAD tools such as PADS Power PCB and PADS Power Logic, verify design conformity to standards, and coordinate with PCB vendors. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, with a degree and relevant experience required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an Associate degree or a training certificate in basic electronics technology and in CAD design software and four or more years of progressive experience designing PC boards utilizing CAD engineering design software.
• Additional experience designing PC boards may be substituted in lieu of education.
• Must have a complete and in-depth understanding and wide application of PC board design concepts and drawing principles, including ANSI Y4.15 and IPC Standards, and demonstrate a very high skill level using CAD engineering software.
• Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly, applying them accurately throughout an evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in developing practicable and innovative PC board design solutions for assigned complex products and components.
• Interact with engineering staff on PC board design concepts and progress.
• Using CAD software, develops complex Schematics, PC board layouts and drawings.
• Verify conformity to design standards and specifications and identify design errors and other deficiencies.
