Job summary

Stratasys Direct Manufacturing in Minnetonka, MN is seeking a Painter II to perform advanced post-processing and surface finishing on 3D-printed parts, including cosmetic and non-cosmetic painting, masking, coatings, sanding, and more. You will operate paint booth equipment, perform quality inspections, and participate in daily production meetings to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong math, precision painting experience, and ability to read customer blueprints.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced math skills.
• Advanced computer experience (Microsoft Office and email).
• Hands with fine motor skills and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and craftsmanship.
• 2–3+ years of measurement experience using hand tools.
• 2–3+ years working with shop equipment including drill press, sanders, etc.
• 2+ years’ experience with cosmetic and non-cosmetic paint and coatings.
• Ability to work independently or with a partner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for finishing.
• Review files and customer blueprints to ensure finished part meets requirements.
• Use tools to smooth surfaces and edges.
• Perform advanced finishing for prototypes and production parts.
• Apply cosmetic and specialty coatings.
• Read and interpret documentation for build ID and order.
• Collaborate with operators and engineers to troubleshoot finishing issues.
• Follow ISO, ITAR, and aerospace requirements.
