Job summary

The Multicraft Technician II at GAF in Newton, Kansas is responsible for safely completing a wide range of advanced multicraft tasks under the Maintenance Supervisor. Proficient in mechanical, electrical and facility maintenance in a manufacturing setting, with emphasis on uptime and safety.

You will fabricate and repair using welding, read blueprints, troubleshoot VFDs, and perform preventive maintenance while coordinating with team members to improve equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Experience with mechanical power trains, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Able to read instructions, blueprints and manuals and use meters and shop tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced maintenance support and PMs of equipment for the Plant site.
• Troubleshoot from blueprints, schematics, and machine drives in a high production line.
• Complete work orders promptly and document in CMMS (Maximo).
• Perform root-cause analysis on manufacturing and maintenance equipment.
• Read manuals and use meters, hand tools, and shop equipment to perform tasks.
• Perform welds (MIG/Rod) and millwright tasks; align pumps and motors.
• Troubleshoot VFDs and process controls; support safety and 5S initiatives.
