Job summary

Progress West Hospital, opened in 2007 and part of BJC HealthCare in St. Charles County, seeks an Advanced Modality Technologist to join the Radiology Team. The role performs diagnostic imaging across CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and related exams, with on-call and rotation requirements.

Strong candidates have 0–2 years of experience; a sign-on bonus of $5,000 is available for eligible applicants. Work is 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Associate or trade school education required or equivalent.
• No experience required for entry level role; prior healthcare exposure preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications include IEMA - Illinois only (excl MRI) and RTR, CT, MR, M, BD, CI, VI, RCIS, RCES.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient and equipment for procedures.
• Performs imaging studies independently, in on-call situations, portable exams and other site as required.

Overview

Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.

Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.

Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.

The Imaging Services Department is a full-service department, providing comprehensive imaging support. Included within the scope of services available are these exam classifications: General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Mammography, Diagnostic Mammograms and Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine. This department, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs diagnostic imaging procedures in at least one advanced imaging modality (defined as Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Interventional, Mammography, Bone Density, Cardiac Catheterization) on adults and/or pediatric patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment, and quality control.
