The Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL, seeks an Advanced Medical Support Assistant within the Group Practice Management Department to support Centralized Scheduling and related DoD/VA clinics.

You will maintain appointment schedules, perform administrative duties, provide customer service, coordinate referrals, and assist interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely treatment and coordinated care across VA and DoD settings.

Job description

The incumbent performs as an Advanced Medical Support Assistant within the Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC) in the Group Practice Management (GPM) Department. Within one of the following sections: Centralized Scheduling (FHCC, DoD, and Mental Health Call Centers), Medical Home Port Clinics (DoD), Immunization Clinic (DoD), Referral Management, Community Care, Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (Kenosha, Evanston, and McHenry CBOCs), Clinical Support Clinics among others.

Functions or Scopes of Practice

An acute and outpatient care setting for both VA and DoD patients in accordance with VHA Directive 1230 and 1232 for scheduling of appointments. Works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model and performs administrative duties, customer service, and other duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients and maintains appointment schedules for one or more outpatient clinics.
