Job summary

Presidential Staffing Solutions, LLC seeks an experienced Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) to support primary care operations and provide administrative and patient-support services within a healthcare environment.

The AMSA collaborates with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient patient scheduling, communication, and daily clinic operations, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule and onsite work in Dayton, Ohio.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a medical office, hospital, clinic, or healthcare environment.
  • Strong patient/customer service skills.
  • Experience with appointment scheduling and electronic medical records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • HIPAA awareness and patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional receptionist and customer service support to patients and families.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments for one or more clinics or units.
  • Adjust appointment times, dates, and locations as needed to support clinic access and staffing needs.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and assist with transferring patients to other healthcare providers when required.
  • Manage administrative and non-clinical activities for the primary care team.
  • Track and follow up on patient-related tasks and activities from initiation through completion.
  • Screen and respond to telephone calls, determine the nature of requests, and provide appropriate information.
  • Verify and update patient demographic information during check-in or telephone interactions.
  • Collect, scan, and update health insurance information.
  • Identify patients with third-party insurance and support related revenue-cycle activities.
  • Accurately enter and maintain information in computerized patient record systems.
  • Review active and pending consultations, recalls, and return-to-clinic communications.
  • Participate in daily team huddles and team meetings as required.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, specialists, hospitals, diagnostic facilities, and community-based programs when appropriate.
  • Provide patients with information regarding available transportation and support services.
  • Assist with electronic records management, program coordination, scheduling, and space utilization.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with patients and families.
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of medical information.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as needed to support efficient clinic operations.
